PROTECH is often a misspelling for PRO-TEC products.

Pro-tec.net Is the website of PRO-TEC and was founded in early 1970's. It specializes in Pro-Tec HELMETS - also searched for by the term PROTECH HELMETS. Pro-Tec helmets were quickly adopted by the same pioneering skaters who were forming the foundation of modern skateboarding by riding transitions and vertical walls in the backyard pools of southern California. It was this innovative and rebellious movement that came to define what Pro-Tec represents today. At a time well before mainstream society considered the board culture "extreme," Pro-Tec was equipping skaters with the same classic helmet styles that still define the Pro-Tec aesthetic.

A helmet is a form of protective gear worn on the head to protect it from injuries, a variation of the hat. The oldest use of helmets was by Ancient Greek soldiers, who wore thick leather or bronze helmets to protect the head from sword blows and arrows.
